September 26, 2023 WEEK 7 Manila Philippines! 🌴

Image
It has probably been one of the most crazy weeks of my life but so good!  The last few days of being in the Provo MTC have been super fun. We had our last classes on wednesday and then the rest of the days until saturday when we left have had nothing. We made this game called "secret hitler" and played that for pretty much the rest of the time we were there. We had to say goodbye to two of the elders leaving for Canada and Hawaii also so that was sad.  The rest of us woke up Saturday morning, packed, and jumped on all sorts of trains and buses to get to the airport. Our first flight was 1 1/2 hours to LA, our second flight was 13 hours to korea, it was so long I just kept on eating Nyquil pills every time I woke up so I tried to sleep the whole time and pretty much everyone on that flight just spoke korean. We completely skipped over Sunday and then got on our last flight at about 5 in the morning. The last flight was so cool because we all got to pick our own...

I have never been so scared and excited at the same time in my life. I have learned so much this week. I loved learning about repentance and faith, God is willing to help us repent and give us that grace if we are willing to let Him! HIGHLIGHTS - Singing "Hindi Ko Alam" to everything (It means I don't know) - We all signed a paper promising to not speak english until wednesday and it lasted maybe one day (our teacher played inspirational music while we signed it) - I finally got the first vision memorized in Tagalog at the start of the week! - Brother Macarilay has a Tagalog speaking Fi...

Image
Alam po mo ng drill means "you know the drill" and we have all been saying that to each other a lot especially during sand volleyball haha. It was a good week! We had a lot of amazing devotionals this week including one from Elder Gary E Stevenson and a concert type devotional from Jenny Oaks Baker and her family! (She is elder Oaks daughter and a professional violinist) I play the violin so it was super fun to hear that! I learned a lot about faith and grace this week and it was super comforting to learn more about that. Through having faith I am able to do so much more than I ever thought I could. I know for sure the Lord is helping me with this experience and this language. HIGHLIGHTS: - Tagalog pick up lines - Not being allowed to speak English on Saturdays - We picked out matching ties for the elders that kind of match with dresses we have - The elders in the other district say that it sounds like mumble rap when the teachers speak in Tagalog haha - Having a sing off in ...
