August 22, 2023 WEEK 2 Wawasakin Kita Po 💥

Wawasakin Kita Po means "I will respectfully destroy you" We learned it because we were trying to figure out how to trash talk people in the philippines but as a missionary we have to be respectful so to make a sentence respectful in Tagalog you add "po"

Living at the MTC has actually been so fun.
I absolutely love my companion and my district. I feel like everyday we get closer and it's going to be so hard to leave them at the end of the 6 weeks.

I also found out that me and Sister Strong are the only girls going to the Philippines in the whole MTC here so that's cool.

Some of the highlights of my week:
- Taylor Swift blasting through the halls on the first night
- The elders abusing the phrase Mabuti Tubig (pronounced my booty too big) (it means good water)
- Gaslighting the Elders about pretty much everything
- The amazing devotionals
- Singing hymns at our district studies at night
- And joining the Choir

Philipino Culture:
- They wear towels on their heads when it rains so that they don't get sick
- dogs are extremely diseased
- people fall in sewer holes when there is a lot of water in the streets
- No toilet paper or showers - just buckets
- There is usually no specific way of spelling a word they just spell it however they think it should sound and because of that I'm forgetting how to spell normally haha

We had a bunch of really amazing experiences and I am so excited to start this week!

PICS (hopefully it works this time)
- Me and Sister Strong lay in the grass on the roof of the second floor on every break
- Elder Beebe studying (?)
- The beautiful campus
- Eating bread one of the elders mailed to himself during our meeting
- Our Tagalog drawings
- (most) of the district
- The temple this morning
