April 14, 2024 WEEK 36 Lumpiang Taco 🌯

 Yesterday we were making tacos but realised we didn't have enough flour for tortillas but we did have lumpia wrappers (like egg roll wrappers) so we wrapped taco meat and cheese in those and it was a super good idea they were delicious


HIGHLIGHTS
- We had 4 friends come to church yesterday! 
- One of our friends has a lot of concerns and things that are holding her back from being able to be baptised but through the Gospel Library App we have set reminders for her to read from the Book of Mormon a chapter every night and we have already seen Miracles! She even came to church to watch General Conference and told us all about what she read in the Book of Mormon.
- Nemiry has been telling everyone how great of an experience she had at church 
- I finished my second journal this week which felt weird 
- I learned how to eat an entire crab
- Watching General Conference in Tagalog and then finding out we accidentally watched a session from two years ago
- Met this black guy from Kenya who is also a missionary and he was hilarious
- In one lesson we had 9 girls around 13-14 years old gather and listen plus 4 other adults that we were already teaching it was really cool I've never taught a group like that

CULTURE
The ants are insane here if we leave out a dirty dish for even just an hour it will be covered in ants 

ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP
Since we watched the General Conference from two years ago on accident I was able to rewatch President Nelsons talk Spiritual Momentum and I wanted to give you all his invitation too to remove all contentions from our lives no matter how small. I know we are blessed from following the words of our living prophet. 

This verse about the Nephites helped me to learn how to do that a little bit better :)

"Some were lifted up in pride, and others were exceedingly humble; some did return railing for railing, while others would receive railing and persecution and all manner of afflictions, and would not turn and revile again, but were humble and penitent before God."

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! I fly out Saturday night for the Philippines and will arrive that monday. We actually skip completely over sunday because of the time zone differences. Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
