April 22, 2024 WEEK 37 This is Gonna Go Viral 🌏

 We had a really cool experience this week with the black missionary we met from Uganda, he is around 50 and has been serving for his church for 15 years in the Philippines. This week we were able to meet with him again.

Our lesson went well and then at the end we mentioned that there is a living prophet on the earth today, he was amazed saying he really felt like that was true. We were able to set him up with the church website and more about our prophet Russel M Nelson. He got so excited and started shouting praises with his hands up towards the sky it made me so happy

Something cool to me was how humble he was, he said that before he came to our lesson he fasted and prayed to be able to learn as much as possible from us and was humble enough to believe. 

My favorite quotes from that whole experience:
-"This is GONNA GO VIRAL" "hallelujah"
- "are you kidding me sister Fillmore and sister Meng?? (shaking his head) This might be my day"
- "this is my dream come true"
- "you have no idea how much this extra knowledge means to me"

HIGHLIGHTS
- Immediately after that really cool experience we were Bible bashed by a Jehovas Witness 
- I ate an oyster for the first time that they got straight from the ocean 
- Some of the days this week we have either had no water or no electricity or both
- We put another friend on Baptismal date (he is so prepared by God)
- all of the kids have been only going to school for half days because of how hot it is
- Transfers.. I'm staying in Aringay with sis Meng

CULTURE
We hang our clothes up to dry in the sun, last week someone decided to burn their trash pile right after I hung mine up so I smelled like burnt trash all last week

ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP
Conference was so good! I really like Gerrit W Gongs talk and especially this quote:

"All things will work together for your good"

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!!
