February 25, 2024 WEEK 29 Baguio is Burning 🔥 ⛰️

This week was full of miracles! I dont think I have ever felt this type of happiness in my life. There really is so much joy in bringing people closer to Jesus Christ.

... Baguio and all of the mountains have been starting on fire and no one really knows why. There has been black ash just falling from the sky all over. It has been kind of cool to watch and we have a certain staircase that we like to go watch it from, one time when we went to watch the fire we met a nanay who invited us in her home and she ended up being really interested! 

HIGHLIGHTS
- PANAGBENGA we were able to watch the grand flower float parade! I died and went to heaven I love flowers, the big floats made purely out of flowers were amazing. Someone told us that even LeBron James came to the parade a few years ago
- Tatay Jhune is on baptism date! 
- Massaging one of our nanays diseased arms
- Got the Japanese Encephalitis shot thats reqiured now
- Zone Con was so good and I felt the spirit so strong
- I got an amazon package from my family ♡ It had all of my favorite American snacks and a blanket 
- Exchanges: hiking through a saote farm and over a hanging bridge, a random Tatay coming with us to one of our lessons and then teaching our friends things against what we believe ahah he said he was a preacher from another religion
- Our friend Patricio who cant be baptised for 3 years is being such a missionary! He said that his neighbor had been listening to our lessons from his house and asked him if he could have pamplets...so Patricio gave him all his pamplets that we gave him and told the neighbor about the discussions :o 
- The member finished my traditional dress its so cool I love it 
- What is important to you is important to Heavenly Father. One night we got out of lessons too late for there to be a jeep and so we were thinking we were going to have to walk home or pay a lot for a taxi BUT by a miracle not only was there a jeep an hour later than usual that took us to town, there was another jeep an hour and a half later than usual taking us to our house with only two spots left just for us. It felt like Hevenly Father knew how tired we were and sent those two jeeps just for us. ♡

CULTURE
There is always laundry water dripping from people's balconies or running down roads pretty much everyday I get laundry water splashed on me one way or another

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
