January 21, 2024 WEEK 24 We Wish You Americana 🎶
One of my favorite parts of this past week was all of the groups of kids in the barangays. We have made friends with some of the groups and when we went to say hi to some of them they sang "we wish you americana" and asked me things like "wait so you live in the same country as spiderman? Have you met him?"
HIGHLIGHTS
- bowling with the district and then going to the arcade on pday
- Our friend Patricio said yes to baptism and he came to church with his girlfriend! However because of his situation and Philipino laws he wont be able to be baptised for another 3 years
- Egg lumpia is my new favorite, its like an eggroll wrapper with cabbage carrots and an egg fried in oil
- English Class
- Making as much food from home as possible like chicken alfredo, chow mein, chicken strips, and chicken noodle soup.
-One of our nanays started dancing everytime she sees us and says I love you my anak it makes my whole day
- this week an old man was wearing a "Simplot growing solutions" hat!! I was so excited because it is a farming company that is based in Idaho so it was just weird seeing something from home.
- A taxi driver not letting us out of his taxi until we watched his anti mormon video it was wonderful
CULTURE
If you drop a fork on the ground it means a boy is going to visit your house and if you drop a spoon a girl is going to visit.
ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP
Something that I liked from my What I Wish I Knew Before My Mission book by John Bytheway was that as missionaries we cant force people to keep commitments but we can teach by the spirit and be worthy of its presence to be able to tough their lives.
Love you all! Have a great week ♡
