May 6, 2024 WEEK 39 We're Halfway There 🙏

 I hit 9 months tomorrow I can't believe I'm already halfway done with the mission everything has been going by so fast. I'm starting to feel like there's not enough time to do everything I want to do ahhhh


HIGHLIGHTS
- We have become really close with two girls our age that we are teaching so last pday we went to 7-11 with them... one of them has a bad smoking problem and had a breathing attack while we were there, so they rushed to the doctor and he told her she needs to completely stop smoking. She is completely ok now AND not smoking! It was a super cool way God answered our prayers!
- We got 4 free trikes on Saturday with saved us 200 pesos
- I got to go to McDonalds for the first time today in 3 months because there's no fast food in this area
- Basketball with the Elders
- It's officially mango season and everyone has been giving us tons of mangoes
- My little brother at home cut his arm with a chainsaw haha he's ok though (good job Ian)

CULTURE
We have been going through a heat wave with temps up to 115°F so a LOT of people have been dying of Heat Stroke

When someone dies they have a parade down the road with horses, banners, the casket, and people walking in lines behind it we see 2 or 3 almost everyday it's really sad 

ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP 

"For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so... righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility." 2 Nephi 2: 11

One of our friends came across this verse in her personal studies and it really helped her to understand why things are hard sometimes. Love you all have a good week ♡♡

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
