October 16, 2023 WEEK 10 Anna and Elsa ☃️

 This week we have created fan bases of kids in literally every different area we serve in it is so funny. There was the cutest group of girls that got so excited to see us and yelled "its anna and elsa!"


Another one of my favorite encounters with a group of kids in the area was when a bunch of girls ran up to me and said "we watch your tik toks we love you!" I told them that I have never had tik tok but they all asked if I could take a picture with them individually it made my whole week :)

HIGHLIGHTS:
- This one is definetly not a high of the week but we met this guy and he was super excited to let us teach him. He ended up being super creepy to us and the last lesson we taught him he videoed us the whole time. He tried to hid his phone in between his legs but both of us saw him push stop recording at the end of the lesson.
- My legs are getting so muscly from tbe amount of stairs and hills
- We counted the stairs one day and it was literally over 300
- These old men asked if I had a boyfriend and when I said no they said "Thats ok maybe someday you will find God fearing Filipinos like us in America"
- Meeting this atheist from Mississippi and him trying to change our minds 
- Brown outs! Sometimes the power just goes out and it freaks me out especially when we are still in the city at night and there is no lights
- Getting to go to a baptism!
- Fillmore = "Fee la mor ay" when anyone tries to pronounce it
- This guy asking me my first name and then laughing about it for 15 minutes and saying "Ashlun" in a French accent

CULTURE
- They decorate with anything colorful including mtn dew bottles
- They love my blue eyes and just blue eyes in general 
- Pretty much everyone owns a tindahan (little roadside shop)
- They leave the doors to their houses open during lessons 
- Plants are put into every type of bottle or bucket my favorite is laundry detergent bottles
- Everything is prewrapped for the most part we bought a bag of marshmellos and every one was wrapped because ants will get into your food otherwise

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! I fly out Saturday night for the Philippines and will arrive that monday. We actually skip completely over sunday because of the time zone differences. Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
