October 30, 2023 WEEK 12 Bishop Backed Into A Kid 🚗

 One of my most memorable stories of this week is when we were welcoming members. Some kids were playing in the parking lot and Bishop decided to back his car into a spot, but he didnt look and backed right into a little girl. She kinda smacked her head a little bit but she was ok! 

HIGHLIGHTS
- happy halloween :)
- the elders getting accused of stealing a dog and then trying to find it for 4 hours 
- This friend named victor who asks us so many irrevelent questions everyday like "who resurrected Jesus"
- We had an absolutely HUGE huntsman spider the size of our hands in our appartment (there is a series of videos of us trying to kill it with a croc in my google photos)
- A member gave us a huge bag of imported cheerios
- Our dinners have been cheerios 
- We got videoed again by the same guy :(
- This guy came up to us while we were studying, looked at our bag of almonds and said ooo "gusto gusto" and then stole them, butttt later a member gave us a way bigger bag of almonds 
- Brother Neil! Brother neil is a super cool guy who was a dedicated iglesia ni cristo member but just recently he said he wants to be baptised along with his four kids! He also came to church and thanked us for helping him go to church for the first time in 5 years
- Elections are today and everyone is going crazy
- Mold is in my closet and all of my shoes and things in the back are covered in mold :(

CULTURE
- Pedicures are always being given on the side of the road
- Jeepneys are always painted with all types of cartoon characters or just anything really
- The people in this city have a really high sense of fashion so its fun to see everyones outfits and designer bags
- A lot of guys sell Balut out of a bucket and every morning you will hear a guy yelling "Baluuuuuuut"

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! I fly out Saturday night for the Philippines and will arrive that monday. We actually skip completely over sunday because of the time zone differences. Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
