February 24, 2025 WEEK 81 Lava Lava 🌋

This week we have been learning samoan dances (as roommates) and wearing the traditional skirts called lava lavas.

HIGHLIGHTS
- pangagbenga festival (flower festival) is up on the main street of Baguio its so fun! There is just tons of vendors everywhere 
- we went to this cool chinease place called Bell Church today
- during the week this random guy walked into our house while we were studying and then got scared and ran out ??
- Because of a problem with some sisters me and the other STL got to go to Legarda for church which was the ward in my first area! I got to see all of the members from my first area it was so cool ♡ 
- I got to go to MLC and see two of the sisters I trained! It was such a good little reunion
- We went to a baptism on saturday
- the senior couples took us and the ZLs to Chilis for a "meeting" they are the best
- we are learning a samoan dance

They wear these skirt like things around everywhere called "ie lava lava" Sister Tasiano gave me one and I love it! There is also so many different ways you can tie them

ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP 
A member I saw in Burnham again told me this "I know you're going home soon and I will just tell you now DONT LOSE YOUR FIRE BUILD IT UP" I love that, I know that it will be hard to keep the holy habbits but that they are absolutely nessesary. Getting home from a mission should not be the end.

  Keyboard ka ba? Kasi type kita... I love Tagalog pick up lines! this one means are you a keyboard because you're my type haha It has been such a great week but soo weird because we have been doing a few things for the last time! Homecoming- Touring the Philippines with Mom and Dad March 22-March 27

 Ashlyn was released from her mission on March 22, 2025 at the Baguio Mission Home.  Because President and Sister Wilson couldn't be there, The Caldwells came to meet us and help with her release.  This was a tender mercy because the Caldwells had treated Ashlyn like a daughter throughout her mission and watched over her from the day they found her in the Provo MTC until the day she left.  Originally, President Watt was scheduled to release Ashlyn over a phone video conference, but ended up having other obligations and he authorized her dad to release her, which was also a very special and tender moment.  A lot of tears of joy were shed when we saw Ashlyn again after 19.5 months and after she had to sadly take off her tags and say goodbye to this chapter of her life. December 23, 2024 WEEK 72 Naragsak a Paskua 🎅

HIGHLIGHTS - Christmas con!! We took a 4 bus ride down to LA Union and back so all together we traveled 8 hours that day. My favorite part of the travel was playing with one of the elders electric massager because it makes your nerves in your hand go crazy if you put it on your arm. We were all laughing so hard  - I got HUGGED by a 20 year old drunk guy - I also got super sick this week but luckily after a 5 hour nap and a lot of prayers I was totally fine to go work - The Caldewalls my favorite senior couple took us to some of our poorest friends and we shared a message and gave them bags of rice and veggies it was an amazing experience and we felt the spirit so strong - The branch Christmas party was fun it was mostly games and karaoke  - We just got news that our mission will now get phones for everyone so companionships don't have to share!! We are super excited about it - I started my French fries on fire in the microwave and smoked out the apartment woops  CHRISTMAS...
