January 5, 2025 WEEK 74 Potatoes 🥔

My favorite interaction with a drunk guy this week was when we were teaching one of our friends at night. He kept throwing open the door and asking her if he could join the lesson and yelling in English I LOVE JESUS. She finally ended up locking him in the house while we taught but towards the end he threw open the window, handed me a big bag of potatoes, and said "when I looked at you I knew you would know how to cook potatoes" he was right hahaha I guess Idaho shines in my countenance

HIGHLIGHTS
- I love my nigerian companion sister Patrick, she is so funny and her favorite thing to say to me in her thick accent is "if I SLAP you..." she also didnt tell me until today but today is her birthday
- I have roommates and I am back with S.Mecham...again, we have somehow been together in all of my areas but were never companions
- Being back in Baguio means:
  * back to feeling like I am going to collapse from climbing so many mountains everyday
  * back to beautiful views
  * back to 60°F weather
  * back to cold rejections
- We got fed Korean food
- La Trinidad is known for strawberries so we call ourselves the strawberry district

NIGERIAN CULTURE 🇳🇬
The government system uses multiple kings for different towns and cities with princesses and princes too. S.Patrick was saying that it is dangerous to be a princess because they get kidnapped

ESPIRITUAL NA ISIP
And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive

I have learned that this is the secret to having a peaceful life with good relationships. If we apply these we will be able to become more like Jesus Christ
Alma 7: 23

PICS
